The LAMDA Alumni Fund
With the future of Higher Education funding uncertain, LAMDA has decided to take control of its own destiny to ensure that it can continue to offer the very best conservatoire training to the most talented students...
The outcome of the 2009 Government review of tuition fees is unlikely to be positive for the Academy. We anticipate that the present cap on tuition top-up fees (currently £3,145) will be lifted and fees will then rise significantly. In addition to this, the recent government ruling to scrap funding for equivalent or lower qualifications (ELQs) means that LAMDA may no longer be a financially viable option for many postgraduate students.
In the face of such a tough reality, the Academy is launching The LAMDA Alumni Fund - a regular-giving scheme to enable our graduates to lend a much-needed helping hand to those wishing to follow in their footsteps. Even small gifts, when combined together, can directly support LAMDA's student body and help us to plan ahead. More importantly, they enable us to address some of the Academy's greatest needs, such as providing scholarships, subsidising increased top-up fees and supporting ever-rising student maintainance costs.
We hope that LAMDA has given you a wonderful start to your career, as well as some great memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. A gift to The LAMDA Alumni Fund of as little as £5.00 per month, or whatever you can afford, will enable us to ensure that others like you can continue to benefit from all that LAMDA has to offer. Every penny really will help to make a difference, so we hope that you will choose to get involved!
There's never been a more important time to support vocational arts education in the UK.
