Our Spring Season 2012
We are delighted to announce LAMDA’s Spring Season 2012 – your chance to see some of the most exciting new talent entering the dramatic arts industry this year.
Our season opens at The LAMDA Linbury Studio with three plays that are as varied as they are powerful: David Hare’s Olivier Award-winning Racing Demon, Moira Buffini’s Dinner and The Astronomer’s Garden by Kevin Hood. These productions mark the debut performance of our Two Year Acting Course students.
In the same week, we open the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, at Greenwich Theatre, as a continuation of our LAMDA at Large initiative.
In March, we present David Greig’s Europe and Fin Kennedy’s How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found. Both plays explore questions of identity and belonging – providing thought-provoking entertainment at The LAMDA Linbury Studio, before Europe transfers to the Moscow Arts Theatre in Russia.
We close our Spring Season with a welcome return to Wilton’s Music Hall – where we launched LAMDA at Large in February 2011 with our 150th Anniversary production of Cabaret. A unique space with very special memories for LAMDA, Wilton’s will host our productions of Julius Caesar and musical farce, The Threepenny Opera. With Julius Caesar going on to play in Paris and The Threepenny Opera transferring to the Ludlow Assembly Rooms in Shropshire, this season sees us bringing our productions to a wider audience than ever before.
