Student Productions

The students involved in LAMDA’s productions – both actors and technicians – have trained at the Academy on courses lasting for 2 and 3 years. They are nearing the end of their development with us and are approaching the beginning of their new journey as fully-fledged professionals.

The productions, performed at both LAMDA’s MacOwan Theatre and Linbury Studio, have been rehearsed for five or so weeks with a professional director, using one of a variety of methods. The directors will be either regular members of staff or visiting artists.

A second professional will have designed the physical production, which will have been assembled by the stage management and technical theatre students. They will have built scenery, made or borrowed properties, hired equipment, as well as participated in the design of the lighting and sound plots. During the course of the performance, these students will manage all of these, according to patterns and sequences decided in the technical rehearsal.

At LAMDA we serve the industry by imitating its methods and techniques; we serve the art of drama by encouraging a creative and individual use of them.

We hope you enjoy our work.
