The LAMDA Angels

“In these difficult economic times, when talk of cuts in arts funding seems to dominate
the news, it is worth remembering that LAMDA offers hope. We support and nurture tomorrow’s artists and technicians, understanding the leading role they play in securing the future of the industry.”

Joanna Read
LAMDA Principal

LAMDA is amongst the very best. We are a specialist vocational training institution; one of just eight drama, dance and circus schools that make up the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama. Our mission is to ensure that the most promising talent is discovered and nurtured. We believe that the training and professional preparation offered by schools like LAMDA provide the lifeblood of the entertainment industry. For all those interested in the continued flourishing of theatre, film, TV and radio, an investment in the Academy represents an investment in the future of the performing arts.

One of the best ways to do this is to join the Academy’s regular giving scheme –
the LAMDA Angels. Membership starts from as little as £45 per year and includes a priority booking period to all the Academy’s public productions.

"LAMDA enabled me to start my career as an actor and 42 years on, I am still using its teaching. The industry may have changed, but the Academy’s reputation for nurturing talent remains unrivalled. The LAMDA Angels have always played a leading role in ensuring that we can offer the best vocational training for tomorrow’s actors and technicians. Now, with significant funding cuts on the horizon, our need for support has never been more pressing. Be an Angel this year and help secure the future of the performing arts industry. ”

David Suchet CBE
LAMDA alumnus (Class of 1969) and Advisory Board member

The LAMDA Angels play a vital role in the Academy by helping us train the world's finest artists and innovators. Membership of the LAMDA Angels offers support in a number of areas. These include:

  • helping to sustain the work of the Academy and allowing us to continue to provide the best possible training for our students in the best possible surroundings.
  • supporting LAMDA's acclaimed productions, showcasing the actors, directors, stage managers and theatre technicians of the future.
  • providing assistance for the purchase of equipment to guarantee the world-class training we offer our students.

By witnessing the work of the Academy's students on their way to professional prominence, our LAMDA Angels can be a part of something truly special.
