A Lasting Legacy
For many people who feel unable to make a significant financial commitment to LAMDA during their lifetime, setting up a bequest is an easy and efficient way to give to the Academy. It can also be a valuable way for existing donors to increase their support.
Legacies can be used to support all aspects of LAMDA's work from Student Bursaries to the Capital Redevelopment Project. In particular, it is a fitting tribute to name something such as a scholarship or studio in perpetuity through a bequest. Whether your legacy is large or small, however, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you will be helping LAMDA to continue to set the standard for training young actors and technicians for years to come and ensuring that the Academy continues to play a fundamental role in this country's cultural life.
A bequest to LAMDA can simply be set up by adding a codicil to a will at any time and the Academy can accept legacies in several different forms:
- A Pecuniary Bequest is simply a specified sum of money to a named beneficiary.
- A Residuary Bequest involves bequeathing all or part of your net estate - what remains after all other gifts and debts have been paid.
- Transfer of Stocks and Shares - any shares bequeathed to LAMDA will be free of capital gains tax.
- A Specific Bequest - an item or object which you would be happy for us to use to raise funds.
Additionally, leaving a legacy to LAMDA may have tax benefits for the donor's estate. For more information, please click here.
The Annual Fund
The LAMDA Annual Fund was established to provide the Academy with a general fund that can be used when needed for various special projects and emergency operating expenses for facilities and equipment. The Fund can provide a safety net for the organisation and is adminstered at the discretion of LAMDA's Executive Board.
