Loans and Funding - UK / EU Students

UK Government Funding - Undergraduate students

Tuition fees will rise to £3,225 for all eligible undergraduate UK / EU students entering universities and other higher education institutions in 2009.

Therefore, all eligible undergraduate UK / EU students offered places on the LAMDA Three Year Acting course and all eligible UK / EU students on the Two Year Acting courses and the Two Year Stage Management & Technical Theatre course will therefore be charged no more than £3,225 for the academic year 2009 /10.

Undergraduate UK students on these courses can also apply for a loan to pay for their tuition fees and possible loans and grants to help towards their living expenses either through the Student Loans Company or from their Local Education Authorities (LEAs) as other students at university.

UK-based EU students may be eligible for loans and grants from their LEAs in the UK - such students should contact the Student Support Section of their LEA who can provide further information.

UK Government Funding - Postgraduate students

Three Year Acting course:

The Government update received mid June, announced that Postgraduate students with a BA (Hons) degree on the Three Year Acting course will now be eligible for a funded place for entry 2009. Such students will therefore pay no more that £3,325 for their tuition fees for 2009/10 but will not be able to take out a student loan for a second degree. Postgraduate students will have to be self financed through bank loans and personal fundraising. See below for further information.

Two Year Acting course & Two Year Stage Management & Technical Theatre course:

Postgraduate students on the Two Year Acting course and Two Year Stage Management course will be eligible for a funded place and so will not pay the full tuition fee.

Such students will not be able to take out a student loan for a second degree and will have to be self financed through bank loans and personal fundraising. See below for further information.

These scholarships are allocated at the Academy's discretion at the time an offer of a place is made. There is no prior application procedure; all students are automatically considered.
