There is a wide range of financial support available to students at the Academy, ranging from loans from the government to tuition fee discounts from the Conservatoire and support from LAMDA’s own Scholarships & Bursaries scheme.
Whether you are eligible for some/all of this support depends on your nationality, household income and what stage you are at in your education. If you are new to Higher Education and do not already have a degree, you will be considered for funding as an undergraduate. If you already have a degree and are coming to the Academy to complete a further qualification, you will be considered for funding as a postgraduate.
To get an idea of which types of funding you might be eligible to receive, why not take a look at LAMDA’s Funding Flow Charts:
Undergraduate students on LAMDA's Three and Two Year Acting courses and Two Year Stage Management & Technical Theatre course may be eligible to apply for loans from the Student Loans Company (SLC). Applications are made through Student Finance England. You can apply for maintenance loans to help with your living costs and tuition fee loans to cover the cost of your tuition. You might also be eligible to receive a maintenance grant. For more information and to apply, visit www.studentfinance.direct.gov.uk.
You are strongly advised to apply for a loan as soon as possible. Applicants do not have to wait for an offer of a place to apply for student loans. Remember you will need to reapply for each year of your training.
You may be eligible to apply for a Professional and Career Development loan. These can be used to pay for the majority of your tuition fees or put towards your living costs. For more information or to get an application pack, call Next Step on 0800 100 900 or visit www.direct.gov.uk*.
