5 January 2012: Performance points
Following Professor Wolf's review of vocational education in 2011, the Department for Education is reforming the 14-16 performance tables and reviewing which vocational qualifications will be included. As a result of this review, LAMDA Examinations’ qualifications will no longer carry performance table points when the new measures come into effect in 2014. The key headline measure will be the percentage of students achieving 5 A*-C grades (or equivalents).
Regardless of whether a qualification is included in headline performance table measures, in future the general rule will be that all qualifications regulated by Ofqual will be approved on Section 96 to be funded for teaching. Where it is in a student's best interest, schools are encouraged to teach qualifications not included on the list.
5 January 2012: Updated certificate format
Revised regulators logos have been provided to all regulated awarding organisations, for inclusion on accredited certificates. The new format logos will be phased into certificates during January 2012.
