In no business is the need for confident presentation more evident than in the auction house. LBP's initial work with Sotheby's has developed into a four year, continuing relationship. The practical lessons central to the course now permeate all areas of the company's activity.
The mission was to enhance the presence, the power and the overall authority of Sotheby's auctioneers. Once the practice and the principles of the course were established, LBP assisted in the creation of a comprehensive "buddy system". This ensured that the presentation skills passed into the company culture, and informed the recruitment and selection of new auctioneers, whilst improving the effectiveness of internal communication.
As the work extended, LBP played an integral role in reviewing and improving auction rooms in London and mainland Europe, culminating in a complete overhaul of rostrum design. This enabled auctioneers to engage with the room in a manner suited to each individual's distinctive physical and vocal presentational styles.
